It was a breezier day for Horning Sailing Clubs racing on Sunday, with a decent wind that proved a little lively at times although plenty of sunshine ensured a good day was had all round. In the Keelboats, the biggest fleet of the day were the Yeomans, who were competitive, despite several small gear failures during the days racing. Toby Fields (Tanskey) won the first race of the day by a narrow margin from Geoff Stubbs (Tara), third was Paul Clarke in Two C Sons. The second race saw a win from Tara, with Two C Sons second, and Scorpio, helmed by Steve Middleditch, third. The Yare & Bures/mixed fleet saw Kim West (Nevada Blue) win, with Alastair Fields (Rosy Wave) second, and Q Stewart (Blue Moon) third, a pattern repeated in the second morning race. The afternoon series mixed Allcomers race saw Toby take another win, ahead of Steve (both sailing Yeomans), with Kim third (Yare & Bure). The final race was won by Paul, with Steve second.
Amongst the dinghies, with more of the fleet having returned from the winter season at Snowflake SC, racing was close, with several capsizes keeping sailors on their toes! The first race saw Hamish Harmer, sailing his Splash with a Flash rig, win on corrected time, with James Street (Laser) second, and Jasmine Herring (Laser) third, the second race seeing Hamish and James swapping positions. In the Toppers, first was Devon Bulldeath, with brother Chevy second and sister Karlina third, with Chevy winning the second race. Whilst Chevy took another two wins in the Toppers in the afternoon, in the Allcomers B fleet both Jasmine and Hamish took a win each, with James and George Davies (Laser) each coming second. Indie Bulldeath sailed confidently in the Optimists to complete all four races.
