A great day's sailing at HSC

It was a gentle start to the 2025 sailing season, with a glorious spring day on the River Bure at Horning. Whilst the day had begun with a sharp frost, this quickly cleared with blue skies and warm sunshine. A light but steady breeze provided perfect conditions for a relaxed yet enjoyable day of sailing.
The river, still quiet at this early stage of the season, provided an ideal opportunity for sailors to get back on the water after the winter break, some racing at the Club for the first time. A two-race series took place for both dinghies and keelboats. Amongst the keelboats, there were very close finishes between the Yare & Bure of Kim West Nevada Blue, crewed by a variety of junior sailors, and an RS Elite sailed by Matthew and Michael Stubbs, Kim winning both races. The dinghies saw Toppers and Lasers race, with close finishes once more. The first race saw Devon Bulldeath win, just seconds ahead of Chevy Bulldeath, both sailing Toppers, whilst the second race was won by Tom Roberts sailing his Laser, with Chevy second.
Beyond the sailing itself, it was great to see so many members coming down to the Club to soak up the atmosphere, whether they were out on the water or simply enjoying the social side of Club life.
