It was a warm and sunny Sunday for Horning Sailing Club’s racing on the river, with the breeze dropping throughout the day. With regattas still taking place across the Broads, turnouts were a little lower than usual, but those that took part enjoyed competitive racing on a busy river. Amongst the Yeomans, Toby Fields sailing Tanskey broke away from the fleet in all three races to make it three wins, with Caroline Johnson taking two second places, and Steven Middleditch second in the afternoon race. The Yare & Bures were closely contended, with Alastair Fields (Rosy Wave) winning all three races and Kevin Saunders (Silver Cloud) second. Three dinghy races were won - by just a couple of seconds on one occasion - by Hamish Harmer sailing his Splash, with both Anya Gittins (Splash) and James Pettit (Laser) taking a second place each, Anya winning the final race.

Next weekend (27th August) sees an Open Downriver Race to Thurne – all welcome.
