The first night of junior racing began on Thursday 6th August, with 10 very excited but somewhat apprehensive young sailors keen to get back on the water. For some, it was the first time on the water in over 10 months, but with a beautiful warm evening and gentle breeze, it was the perfect introduction back to sailing. With toppers and a laser racing, courses were initially set up the river from the Clubhouse but as the wind dropped, this changed to racing up and down the street, which provided more of a beat and made the most of the evening’s remaining breeze. Three races took place, which were closely contended – several seeing just one second between the finishers, the results were extremely close after handicaps were applied:
