Hi everyone,
The 60th Anniversary Yachtmaster Insurance Three Rivers Race
WOW! What a week! The 60th Three Rivers Race sponsored by Yachtmaster Insurance Services Ltd took place last weekend, and what an event it was. With over 100 starters, warm sunshine, a gentle breeze (during the day at least) and a great atmosphere, it truly was a weekend to remember.
Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and a massive thank you to the Three Rivers Committee for their immense hard work in putting on the Race, to our Race Sponsors, to all the volunteers for their phenomenal efforts, to the local businesses, clubs and organisations for their generous support, and of course to the competitors for making the Race such a great event. I managed to make it round very nearly all the guardships to thank them in person on behalf of the Flag Officers, and the general consensus was that it was great to get back on the water. Thank you also to you, our members, for both your support and adherence to the COVID-19 protocols over the weekend.
We’ve seen some incredible pictures from the event (including that amazing sunrise!) – and know that a number of you would like to share your images with Club members. To that end, we have created a Dropbox folder, which should enable the possibility to both upload and download images – enjoy! The viewing link is https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ohndfbasxq68p45/AAB0EoinKtkYK4gpiGwWZ_kea?dl=0 – if you would like to add images, please email me and I will send the edit link: commodore@horning-sailing.club
We were also fortunate to have good media coverage of the Race – both before and after - with articles on the BBC website and in the EDP. You can also see the Yachts & Yachting Race Report here.
The Sundown Series Starts THIS SATURDAY
12th June will see the start of our informal Saturday racing, the Sundown Series. If you intend to come we’d be grateful if you could please let us know – racing@horning-sailing.club We could also do with one additional rescue crew so please let us know if you can help on the above email address.

A message from Toby Fields regarding the Yeoman/Kinsman Nationals
Just another quick plug for the Yeoman Nationals to be held at HSC over next weekend (19-20 June). Please contact Toby on tfields9@hotmail.co.uk or at the club on Sunday if you would like to enter or attend the fleet social. You do NOT need to be a member of the Yeoman and Kinsman Association to enter, and all are welcome to attend the barbecue but I will need a little notice to organise the food.
