It was a breezy weekend at Horning Sailing Club, with the Sundown series attended by dinghies on Saturday, enjoying the gusty conditions. Sunday was another windy day, with turnouts somewhat depleted through a combination of the forecast and given that most of the Yeoman fleet were away at the Yeoman Nationals held at NBYC.

With the main fleets being the Rebels and dinghies, the former fleet opted to reef, with Kevin Edwards in Rebel Maid winning all three races. Three second places went to Kim West sailing Rebel Queen, and three thirds to Amanda Barnes & Gary Wright in Rebel Jade.

The mixed dinghies of Splashes, a Laser and Topper had plenty of opportunities to practise their capsize drills – which they did in abundance! On handicap, the first race was won by Anya Gittins sailing her Topper, the second by Hamish Harmer in his Splash and the third saw another win for Anya.

Next weekend sees Keelboat Weekend and a Yeoman Open.
